Full itinerary
30 April, 2010 : HANOI – THAY AND TAY PHUONG PAGODAS – HOA BINH - MAI CHAU (170 km)
08.00 : Pick you up at your adress 479 Kim Ma street, depart for Mai Chau. Stop for visit Thay pagoda and Tay Phuong pagodas (your optional).The morning to Thay and Thay Phuong Pagodas takes you past what could be called typical Vietnamese village life. See the rice fields medieval looking villages and age old farming techniques.
The first pagoda to be visited will be Thay Pagoda, lying to the west of Hanoi in an area rich in history.
Chua Thay meaning Master’s Pagoda, is dedicated to the 12th century teacher Tu Dao Hanh. on the main altar you can see a statue of the monk.The pagoda structure speaks for it’s self with its serene atmosphere and beauty. With over 100 statues filling the prayer halls, two 15th century bridges and the impressive water-puppet stage it is little wonder that this pagoda is so famous.
Tay Phuong lies just to the west, it offers beautiful architecture and ancient and unique sculptures. It was one of the first pagodas built in Vietnam. See the dragons and demons carved into the wooden roof.
Transfer to Hoa Binh. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue by route to Mai Chau with few stops on the way for taking pictures.
Upon arrival in Mai Chau.
Walking around this charming little village to study more about daily life of Thai minority before having dinner at a stilt house of Thai minority village, where you are hosted with local specialites and rice wine
In the evening, enjoy their folk shows with songs and ethnic dances with Cong & Chieng harmonies
Overnight in a local house.

01 May, 2010 : MAI CHAU – XAM KHOE – CHIENG CHAU – MAI CHAU by bike (40 km)
60 km from Hoa Binh, Mai Chau is both a marvelous and beautiful village admired by tourists from above, viewing a fresh green valley with plants and fields and rows of houses-on-stilts evenly scattered as queuing to welcome tourists.
Breakfast at the home stay.
09.00 AM: In the morning bike ride to Xam Khoe village some 20 km further from Mai Chau via Chieng Chau, Na Sai, Mai Ha with villages minority. Enjoy beautiful, peaceful scenery of rice fields, bamboo forest and many Thai villages along the path.
Picnic lunch en route.
Return by bike to Mai Chau via Ban Cum, xom Nghe, Mo Luong with a lot of stops on the way.

Breakfast at the home stay.
Around noon time we reach Pom Coong Village. Lunch. Afternoon drive back to Hanoi with a stop at Hoa Binh town with visit Museum of Muong people (your optional)
